London Lite Monday, 9 November 2009 25 An American Werewolf In London Five, 11pm (1981) With frights and laughs in equal measure, this cult classic sees two American tourists set upon by a Yorkshire werewolf (the worst kind). David Naughton stars as the hapless survivor of the attack, while Griffin Dunne is superb as the Yank who didnt fare so well. Also stars the delightful Jenny Agutter, above with Naughton, as a saucy nurse. So I Married An Axe Murderer Fiver, 9pm (1993) LARGELY ignored at the box office, and given a lukewarm welcome by the critics, this romantic comedy is original, funny and well worth a look. Charlie Mackenzie is a romantic poet with one small problem: he is commitment-phobic. When he meets a fantastic girl -- who could be the one -- he suspects she has a dark secret. Stars Mike Myers and Nancy travis, above. Behind Enemy Lines Film4, 9pm (2001) NOt very believable, im afraid. Owen Wilson, above, who is far better suited to comedy, is a navy aviator who must avoid capture after being shot down. the pursuing baddies are almost caricatures, while Gene hackman -- as Wilsons commanding officer -- is the typical (but mythical) military man who ignores direct orders in a bid to save his boy. The Time Machine ITV1, 10.35pm (2002) UNFORtUNAtELY this is not the quaint 1960 version starring Rod taylor, its the pretty lame version starring Guy Pearce, above, and Samantha Mumba. it essentially follows the hG Wells sci-fi classic, but with a few unnecessary diversions thrown in to jazz up the story line. Only saved by some snazzy special effects (especially the broken moon of the future).
