Wonderland BBC2, 9.45pm Wonderlands series of off-the-wall documentaries returns with a great idea: couples of all ages filmed sitting up in bed, talking about their relationships and sex lives. there are some good moments, especially among the older ones, although the seniors-have- feelings-too shtick is rather overdone (there may be only so much we want to hear about men of a certain age and their pencils). the bigger problem is the busy flitting from one duo to another, which leaves us with too little opportunity to connect properly to what theyre saying. eventually this becomes all-too soporific bedtime viewing. Y es, its been a struggle, but somehow weve survived without a gastro-reality show for -- how long is it? -- well, all of a week since MasterChef: The Professionals wrapped up. But dont worry: heres the return of Raymond Blanc and the search for a duo to go into business partnership with the chef at the end of the series. It begins with nine couples, and my word theres some right cases here. The first round, youd have thought, is pretty simple: present a dish to show what youre about and pitch your restaurant idea. so, surely just serve up, say, a competent fish pie or spag bol, mutter a few words about your love of French rustic food or MediterraneanKitchen king: Raymond Blanc seeks potential restaurateurs EastEnders BBC1, 7.30pm saM (danniella Westbrook, right) was planning birthday drinks with Janine, but somehow she ends up with Jack instead -- and archie may well be very pleased. Meanwhile, syed finds himself on the receiving end of what appears to be blackmail through his mobile phone -- should he follow Christians advice about it? about the couple who imagine M Blanc, dripping Michelin stars, might actually counte- nance low-grade smoked salmon straight out of the packet? On a more positive note, London girls Nadine and Daisy will take some beating for sheer confidence with their vision of a mainstream version of Nigerian cuisine, and keep an eye out for the cocktail bar owner and mixologist who dress like they genuinely believe theyre in Duran Duran circa 1984. One of the boys even has the nerve to wink at Raymond. Hes allowed to live. Well, it is only week one. As for the great man himself, he still resembles Duncan Bannatyne with a very differ- ent accent, but happily hes getting much more intelligible. either his english or my franglais has improved. 11.00 to Buy or not to Buy (r,s). 11.30 Cash in the attic (s); BBC news; Weather. 12.15 Bargain Hunt (s). 1.00 BBC news; Weather (s). 1.30 regional news and Weather (s). 1.45 doctors (s). a pregnant student is victimised by her domineering boyfriend. 2.15 Murder, she Wrote (r,s). 3.00 BBC news; Weather; regional news (s). 3.05 Mister Maker (r,s). 3.25 Uncle Max (r,s). 3.35 eliot Kid (r,s). 3.50 ooglies (r,s).
