Tube: Brixton Morrisseysmelodies unmarredbymaladies Brief affair: Morrissey last night IN TOWN LaST NIGhT... live Morrissey RoyalAlbertHall HHHHI john aizlewood Fasten your seat belts, its going to be a bumpy ride, chuckled Morrissey at the start of last nights show. at that point the hope was it wouldnt prove quite as bumpy as his gig in swindon on saturday, where he toppled over and was dragged off stage with breathing difficulties. In fact, although the ride turned out to be smooth, clearly not all was well with Morrisseys body, if his repeated throat-clutching and unsettling between-song squatting were any yardstick. Morrisseys maladies are in danger of usurping his melodies and this concert, rescheduled from May when he fell ill, was a tellingly brief affair, lasting just an hour, plus a scanty but blistering encore of First Of the Gang to Die. Yet, without even acknowledging (let alone, perish the thought, waving to) anyone beyond the front rows and being too cheap for screens, Morrissey still connected and when he shed his shirt after Im OK By Myself he revealed a surprisingly taut torso. and for all those breathing difficulties, Morrissey and a band including former Red Hot Chili Pepper Jesse tobias, scarcely paused for air. they added oomph to such smiths favourites as How soon Is now? and -- since the solo hits were mostly ignored -- less-heralded cast-offs, notably the newly baroque When Last I spoke to Carol, were given swaggering makeovers. theres life here yet. index.html2.html3.html4.html5.html6.html7.html8.html9.html10.html11.html12.html13.html14.html15.html16.html17.html18.html19.html20.html21.html22.html23.html24.html25.html26.html27.html28.html29.html30.html31.html32.html33.html34.html35.html36.html37.html38.html39.html40.html41.html42.html43.html44.html45.html46.html47.html
