EASTENDERS is to celebrate its 25th anniversary by launching an online-only series. The new BBC show, to be called EastEnders: E20, will follow four new teenage characters who arrive in Albert Square to rub shoulders with stalwarts such as Dot Branning and Pe g g y Mitchell. The spin-off, which will include video blogs and behind-the-scenes footage, has been written by 13 London writers aged between 17 and 22, who took part in a BBC summer workshop. A spokesman said EastEnders: E20 will stand alone in terms of its storylines so it can be enjoyed by viewers unfamiliar with the soap, but there will be crossover appearances from actors and The soaps executive producer Diederick Santer added: These talented writers are creating a whole new Walford, infused with their own experiences of London life.
