The flat is within A2Dominions Wood House development in Pimlico. I never I thought I could afford to live in Pimlico, right around the corner from Chelsea. Before buying here, I rented in Bethnal Green. I feel very lucky living here -- not many people find affordable flats in Zone 1. The thought of buying somewhere so central was a bit of a dream, but I saw an ad for this development and started to realise I might be able to make it work. You had to live or work in Westminster, and I work in Victoria so was eligible. I can walk to work in just 15 minutes, which is amazing. Over time I can buy more and more of the flat as I earn more money. Im hoping that eventually Ill own the whole flat. Its so handy for getting to places. In fact, I can walk to most places I need to go -- I hardly ever get the Tube. The flat itself has a big terrace and it feels spacious, not like most of the poky one-bed flats you see. I loved the fact that it was brand-new and I didnt have to do much to it -- I just added furniture and put up curtains. Amazing location: Verity Parker bought a one-bed flat at Wood House in Pimlico LAUREN DOOLEY, 31, lives in St George Wharf, a development built by NHHO in Vauxhall. She paid 125,000 for 50 per cent of the flat in 2006. I live right on the river in Vauxhall, next to the Tube. I was a first-time buyer and it would have been impossible for me to afford something in Zone 1 if it werent for shared ownership. I can be in Oxford Circus in 10 minutes. I work in Soho, which takes me only 15 minutes on the Tube. Living in Vauxhall is handy -- I can get anywhere very quickly. And theres a gym, Tesco, doctors surgery and a couple of pubs within the development, so I have pretty much everything I need right here. I love the design of the flats, too. The exterior is very modern and the interiors are of a high quality. I like the fact I have a balcony and a separate kitchen. Friends are always impressed at how smart it is -- they assume affordable housing has to be very dreary. Living here means I hardly ever have to get a cab home after going out at night. I can walk into central London in half an hour. is -- they assume affordable Iconic: St George Wharf index.html2.html3.html4.html5.html6.html7.html8.html9.html10.html11.html12.html13.html14.html15.html16.html17.html18.html19.html20.html21.html22.html23.html24.html25.html26.html27.html28.html29.html30.html31.html32.html33.html34.html35.html36.html37.html38.html39.html40.html41.html42.html43.html
