In a call that puts him at odds with fellow Cabinet minister Jack Straw, Mr Johnson said the Corporation should reconsider its plan to give BNP leader Nick Griffin a platform next week. Mr Johnson challenged Question Time host David Dimbleby to withdraw the invitation, pointing out that the BNP was an illegally constituted party because it barred black and Asian members. The home Secretary made his appeal while on the programme himself last night. The Labour Party has long had a policy of refusing to appear alongside the BNP in debates, but Justice Secretary Jack Straw decided he would go on Question Time to tackle Mr Griffin. Mr Johnson made clear that he strongly disagreed with Mr Straws move. You may like to [re]consider your invitation to next weeks Question Time, he told Mr Dimbleby. That gives them a legitimacy that they do not deserve, he said. These people believe in the things that the fascists believed in in the Second World War, they believe in what the National Front believe in. They believe in the purity of the Aryan race. It is a foul and despicable party. Watch out! ... the walls are pointy! early pets ToryMPurged torepay105k Bannedfar-RightDutchpoliticianjetsintoUK ThE far-Right Dutch politician Geert Wilders arrived in the UK today after winning a battle to enter the country. The MP, whose short film Fitna criticises the Koran as a fascist book, will come under keen scrutiny by the home Office during his visit. he was turned away from Britain in February over fears that his presence could spark inter-faith violence, but won an Asylum And Immigration Tribunal appeal this week. A spokesman for the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) has branded Mr Wilders a relentless preacher of hate, while the MCB secretary-general Muhammad Abdul Bari said: At a time of heightened tension, with the unprecedented rise of the far Right, we must all pull together and focus on points of unity and cohesion. Mr Wilders, 46, said: I am really very pleased that the UK court overturned the decision of the UK Government.
