The latest addition to their empire is a 1.13m townhouse in a quiet mews in an upmarket area of London. The three-storey house has four bed- rooms, three bathrooms, sun terrace, state-of-the-art kitchen, open-plan living room and a garage. Described as the ultimate lads pad, it is understood to have been bought by Cherie, 54, for the Blairs second son, Nicky. The 23-year-old, who graduated from Oxford University two years ago, shares the house with friends, who all pay rent. The exact location has not been revealed for security reasons. Land Registry documents show mother and son listed as the owners, and that the property was bought last month for 1.13m with no mortgage. Other properties owned by Tony and Cherie include a seven- bedroom, Grade I-listed country pile in Wotton Underwood near Aylesbury, Bucks, for- merly owned by the a c t o r S i r J o h n Gielgud, which they bought for 5.75m. The couple still own Mr Blairs four-bedroom constituency home in County Durham, but the property is now on the market.
