When it comes to hip underground gigs, this end of the Northern line, with its sari shops and signs for 99p eyebrow threading, isnt where youd expect to find your favourite acts. A gig in a charity shop feels a bit like a jamming session in your nans front room, but in addition to the usual knick-knacks on the shelves there was a cool vinyl section boasting The Style Council and Black Sabbath -- go nan! But it was headliner VV Brown who really turned up the energy with Game Over, a reggae version of Crying Blood and her summer anthem, Shark In The Water. Oxjam was very hot and just a little bit smelly but where else can you see top acts and leave with a bargain 6.99 tail coat?
