Joss Stone, right, provides us with one of the all-time great bad accents as Anne of Cleves, but Henry has taken a fancy to one Katherine Howard (tamzin Merchant). Still the unageing monarch could be giving Dorian Gray beauty tips. Law & Order: Criminal Intent Five, 10pm/11pm A DoUBLE-BILL, one from each L&o: CI team. First, Logan and Wheeler have to deal with the apparent drugs overdose of a billionaire heir. then, ever-classy Vincent Donforio, as Goren, is joined by the late Roy Scheider. In one of his last roles, the guest star plays a serial killer on death row who has some explosive revelations to make in the two weeks left before his execution. With a story thats emotionally loaded -- Gorens mother is on her deathbed -- and full of surprises, this episode is a cut above, and one of the finest in the whole series. F OR fans like me, Peep Show isnt a comedy merely to like, but to cherish. The saga of Mark and Jezs utter inability to come to terms with adulthood is such an audaciously honest snapshot of male egocentricity (with which Ill confess Im all too familiar) that Im rapt with gratitude for the comforting company of these old friends. Yet the downside is my fear of being let down when each new series comes around and having the memory spoilt of all thats gone before. As season six began last week, I worried about the effect of Sophies pregnancy -- theres nothing quite like the imminent arrival of a baby toEternal pessimist: David Mitchell (Mark) ponders the future Coronation Street ITV1, 7.30pm/8.30pm It SHoULD be a day to celebrate for Fiz (Jennie McAlpine, right) -- its her 25th birthday. But then she finds out that Kirk is going to be moving out, and Chesney rounds on her as being to blame. Elsewhere, Jason discovers hes through to the final of Mr Gay UK -- time for a party. boys woeful inadequacy is even more glaringly pathetic (whod have thought it possible?) and its from this rich source of idiocy that the laughs flow. Adding to the mix, Marks geeky lust interest Dobby is now a fully paid-up member of the Peep crew, while Jez discov- ers his perfect woman lives in the flat downstairs: Elena, a beautiful Eastern European drug dealer who is grade 8 at the violin. Laugh-out-loud lines carpet- bomb the half-hour like a Bomber Harris squadron (as Second World War-obsessed Mark might have it), and the priceless dialogue is bettered only by the genius gems of the boys internal monologues.
