LITESPORT MAN UNITED BREAKING NEWS... Flintoff will help coach Emirates, says agent ANDREW FLINTOFF will help coach the United Arab Emirates during his rehabilitation from knee surgery, his agent has confirmed. Andrew Chandler revealed the 31- year-old (above) will base his recovery at the Dubai Sports City complex, and will use his time away from the treatment room to help with the development of the countrys leading cricketers. Chandler said: A partnership has been agreed with Dubai Sports City to use their gym and facilities as a base for his rehab, I believe he will be one of the first to use them. In return he will be carrying out some coaching for the UAE national team over the next six months. Flintoff retired from Test cricket after the Ashes victory over Australia last month. He had surgery on a troublesome knee problem three weeks ago and last week moved to Dubai, where he hopes to open a cricket academy. Chandler added: His children have already started at a local school. Flintoff last week snubbed a contract offer from the ECB but Chandler insists: That wont make much difference as he has said he will make himself available for one- day games. He remains committed to Lancashire and in addition to the IPL, he has been offered contracts for T20 tournaments elsewhere. BOYCOTT BLAST FOR ENGLAND: PAGE 43 SIR ALEX FERGUSON does not care whether Carlos Tevez recovers from his knee injury or not because Manchester Citys best player will miss the derby-day showdown with United at Old Trafford on Sunday. While Tevez has created all the headlines this summer with the acrimonious manner in which he moved from United to City, Ferguson (right) has identified Emmanuel Adebayor as the main danger. The 25m striker has scored in all four games as the Blues opened their Premier League campaign with a 100percent record. Now, though, he is consigned to watch from the sidelines after picking up a three- match ban for his stamp on Robin van Persie last weekend. I am not bothered whether Tevez plays or not Manchester Citys best player wont be playing, said Ferguson. Adebayor is their star player, there is no question about that. He has scored in every game so far. But Ferguson also criticised the Togolese talisman for his antics against Arsenal. It was surprising behaviour. I couldnt believe it. He was very aggressive, the boy. And then he rather ominously added what he would have done if one of his players had done the same. Id take them into a dark room, he said. Tevez is desperate to play at Old Trafford and Ferguson accepts there will be tension. The rivalry has gone up a notch and then coming up with their posters about Carlos Tevez theyve been a bit, how can I put it, cocky. Rio Ferdinand is a major doubt for United and Paul Scholes is suspended. You blue it: Fergie blasts Adebayors behaviour PREMIER LEAGUE SUNDAY, LIVE ON SS1 FROM 3.30PM (KO: 4PM) KEY MEN FRANK LAMPARD CHELSEA IT sounds ridiculous, but is there a more underrated player in the Premier League? Chelseas flawless start to the season has seen the plaudits roll in for new boss Carlo Ancelotti and a refocused Didier Drogba, but Lampards contribution has been strangely ignored. Though Drogbas finish at Stoke last week was magnificent, how many players could have supplied him with such a clever and disguised pass? TOM HUDDLESTONE SPURS ADEBAYOR-GATE has swallowed up some of the space that should have been filled by coverage of Huddlestones atrocious piece of play acting which contributed to Paul Scholes sending-off. After a bright start to the season, Huddlestone reverted to type last week and against quick- witted opponents. There is nothing in his track record to suggest itll be different on Sunday. The Nigerian has worked under five different managers since Jose Mourinho signed him from Lyn Oslo in 2006. But Mikel is relishing life under latest boss Carlo Ancelotti, who regards Chelseas youngest regular as the closest thing to him as a player. Before they defend a perfect start to the season against Spurs, Mikel told the Chelsea website: He knows the role very, very well and sometimes he speaks with me about it. He told me he was like me. We will see how it goes. Every time a new manager comes in it is difficult. I try to get used to the old manager and he goes and another one comes in and wants you to play a different way, and then another one comes and sometimes it is a bit confusing. With the current manager, he has asked me to play differently in a different system and that is difficult at first -- but I will only do my best. He wants me to pass the ball a bit quicker. You cannot pass the ball quicker when you dont have options so it is not just about me. Ancelotti himself said: Mikel has very good quality to play in front of the defence. He has good defensive play but has to improve when we have the ball. He is young and intelligent, and he is motivated to do better. the current manager, he differently in a different dont have options so it is BY NEAL COLLINS Cech Bosingwa A Cole CarvalhoTerry Malouda Essien Cech AnelkaDrogba Anelka Ballack Lampard Lennon London Lite Friday, 18 September 2009 47 index.html2.html3.html4.html5.html6.html7.html8.html9.html10.html11.html12.html13.html14.html15.html16.html17.html18.html19.html20.html21.html22.html23.html24.html25.html26.html27.html28.html29.html30.html31.html32.html33.html34.html35.html36.html37.html38.html39.html40.html41.html42.html43.html44.html45.html46.html47.html48.html49.html50.html51.html
