Annie Le was the focus of a massive police search after she went missing just days before she was due to get married. The 24-year-old pharmacology student was last seen on Tuesday in the five-storey building that housed the lab where she worked at the Ivy League school in New Haven, New England. CCTV shows her arriving at 10am but there was no film of her leaving. Her ID and credit cards were found in her office in Connecticut. But following the discovery of a body in the wall, police chiefs fear the worst and believe it is Ms Le. The body was found on the day she was supposed to marry Columbia University graduate Jonathan Widawsky in New York. More than 100 officers have been searching the building for days, using blueprints to find where evidence and a body could be hidden. The remarks by the terrorist leader were made in a tape recording released two days after the eighth anniversary of the attacks that he ordered on New Yorks World Trade Centre and the Pentagon. He also said White House officials were merely following the strategy of George W Bush. HitlersfamilytrackeddownbyDNA ADOLF HITLERS living relatives have been discovered by a customs official and a journalist claiming to have decoded the Nazi leaders DNA. Marc Vermeeren and Jean- Paul Mulders analysed cigarette butts in an Austrian village and a paper napkin in a New York fast- food restaurant to trace 39 of Hitlers relatives. They knew three great-nephews of the dictator lived in America, and followed one to a restaurant, where they took DNA from a napkin. They compared it with DNA from cigarettes found in Hitlers Austrian birthplace. Knoxs faith in release AMANDA KNOX has spoken of her confidence of being freed as her murder trial resumes today. In a letter to her co-accused former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, 25, American Knox, 22, wrote: Im so sorry that you are alone but at least I dont believe it will be for long. All I keep repeating to myself is September. Knox, left, has been on trial since January, accused of the murder of British student Meredith Kercher, 21, who was found dead in 2007 in the flat she and Knox shared in Italy. Sales slump is worst since 7/7 bombingsWEST END stores have suffered their biggest drop in sales since the aftermath of the July 2005 terror attacks. Takings last month were 5.9 per cent down on a year ago, raising fears that central London shops face a tough Christmas. The swine f lu scare and hot weather were blamed for the end- of-summer stay-away, and June and July sales may have contributed as bargain-hunters failed to return in August. The downturn is much more severe than during last autumns financial crisis and fol- lows figures which showed that shoppers were reducing debt rather than spending for the first time since the mid-Nineties. Clothing, footwear and household goods saw the biggest falls, while homeware and furniture were stronger. Food sales also held up. The capitals like-for-like sales plunge is far worse than the 0.18 per cent average for Britain. The British Retail Consortium said the plunge in business was partly down to a recovery in the pounds value, eroding Londons European appeal for bargains. The BRCs director general, Stephen Robertson, said: These results dont suggest the recovery is under way. After the 7/7 bombings, London shop sales fell 8.9 per cent from the same period the year before. BY KEVIN WIDDOP So You Wanna Be In TV? Come to our We Tell It Like It Is session!
