London Lite Wednesday, 9 September 2009 25 TELEVISION Filmchoice FILM RATINGS excellent very good good average poor KEY (R)repeat (S)subtitles on text service Unforgiven ITV4, 10.10pm (1992) GENE HACKMAN, above, is excellent in this film. His character, Little Bill, is not very likeable -- a righteous lawman corrupted by his absolute power -- but Hackman makes you like him, hate him, admire him and pity him in equal measure. Its not an easy task outshining co-stars such as Clint Eastwood and Richard Harris. The Mission ITV3, 11pm (1986) ISNT it always the way? You have to put up with mediocre repeats -- and then two excellent films come on at the same time. If westerns arent your bag, see above, tune into Robert De Niro (pictured) and Jeremy Irons in this amazing historical drama. Also stars eye-popping scenery and Ennio Morricones breathtaking score. Oceans Eleven ITV2, 9.50pm (2001) THE ending of the 1960 original is far better, but this star-studded film (including George Clooney and Brad Pitt, above) is still entertaining, has some fantastic action sequences and snappy dialogue -- especially between Clooney and Julia Roberts. Plus, Shaobo Qins gymnastics are amazing. STEPHEN MARR BBC2 ITV1 Channel 4 Five 10.30 This Morning (S). Sue Perkins talks to Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford. 12.30 Loose Women (S).
