Despite waking up yesterday in London, hopping on a plane emblazoned with her name, performing her first international gig to launch her debut perky-pop album turn it Up in Berlin and dashing back for launch #2 in Kentish town, the 18-year-old essex blonde catapulted herself on stage last night dressed like a Christmas bauble, flung us a Colgate poster-girl grin and, for an hour, didnt stop bouncing. the singer -- who looks and sounds like the missing piece in a Duffy/Diana Vickers jigsaw (did i spy a naked foot there?) but would make both of them cry in a dance-off -- cartwheeled out of nowhere in June to No1 with her soulful, Wino- nudging slice of R&B, Mama Do. Naturally, she hasnt had the time to release much else; her second single, the infectiously buoyant but suspiciously ting tings-y Boys & Girls, was released yesterday. So gaps in her first headlining gig were padded with Beatles and Killers covers which, though radically un- reworked, showed off the one instrument she plays: a cracking pair of lungs. Not a pair of such originality that Florence Welch need go sleepless, but one which sent Pixies tiny, party- frocked fans tottering home in their stilettos, singing in unison and happily slurping on their Smirnoff ices. index.html2.html3.html4.html5.html6.html7.html8.html9.html10.html11.html12.html13.html14.html15.html16.html17.html18.html19.html20.html21.html22.html23.html24.html25.html26.html27.html28.html29.html30.html31.html32.html33.html34.html35.html36.html37.html38.html39.html
