EE 5 CREDIT Volcanoisland issuchablast Lost Land Of The Volcano BBC1, 9pm The Fixer ITV1, 9pm For all the po-faced seriousness of the storyline -- tonight a team of child traffickers get their just deserts, with the Governments clandestine hitman John Mercer in the thick of the action -- the return of The Fixer is proving to be a large plate of twaddle with a good dollop of tosh on the side. But theres nary a boring moment, and one heart-stopping scene of rose (Tamzin outhwaite, right) racing against time to save her life is pretty much worth the price of admission alone. Cowboy Customers ITV1, 10.35pm AFTer years of cowboy businesses being busted on TV in confrontational doorstep interviews, the tables are turned. Across Britain billions of pounds are owed to small businesses by customers who dont pay. Builder Nigel Gray made the news for taking down a conservatory after the woman who commissioned it left him 15,000 out of pocket, and now he presents a revenge mission on behalf of other victims, including a pet cemetery owner whose refusal to pursue the grief- stricken has cost him over 50,000. The diabolically bad drama reconstruction scenes are a real cowboy job, too. T his might sound familiar. A m o t l e y c r e w o f weatherbeaten scientists and muscly macho men make camp on a remote tropical island. Their mission: to search for undiscovered prehistoric c r e a t u r e s a m o n g t h e rainforests dangers. Cue King Kong chasing down a T Rex on skull island, you might think. But its also the set-up for the BBCs latest real- life natural history epic, amongst the volcanoes of Papua New Guinea at the far reaches of the Pacific. What will she decide to spend it on? sequences. Among the species on show in this first of three parts are a flying stick insect that more accurately might be described as mid-way between a good-sized twig and a full-on branch; an audibly squeaking beetle; a parrot as tiny as a sparrow; and a frog were told calls for an hour every evening at 7pm with such regularity you could set your watch by it. But perhaps the most mag- nificent specimen on show is adventurer steve Backshall, at least for those viewers who like an old-fashioned real man kind of fella, and when not abseiling down waterfalls hes not shy about going bare-chested and showing off the relief-map pecs and abs. so, something for everyone. And lets not rule out a 50ft-tall gorilla turning up some time in the next couple of weeks.
