I f you set out to devise the opposite to Gene Hunt in the way of telly detectives youd probably end up with a character very much like Caroline Quentins Detective Inspector Janine Lewis. After all, men are from (Life on) Mars and women are from Venus, and as Blue Murder returns for a fifth series its a refreshing alternative to the clobber first, ask questions later old-school testosterone approach. Instead, Lewis hardly raises her voice on the case, even if she doesnt hold back at home as a single mum with four kids to control. Her policing style is delegation and gentle manage- Coronation Street ITV1, 7.30pm/8.30pm kevin (Michael le vell, right) wants to see more of Molly without being found out -- so he devises a plan to pretend to be doing more vehicle recovery work. will he be able to get away with it? Meanwhile, lloyd helps steve to get his moment of reckoning with slug. took part. Suspects-wise, its mostly a family affair, and this is where Blue Murders DI comes into her own. Kojak has his lollipop; Sherlock Holmes pure reasoning and a pipe: Lewis does empathy and relating. Its tough being a single parent, she sympathises with the victims sister, even while keeping a careful eye out for the possibility that it was the tearaway daughter who did for her aunt. And theres the dead womans husband to be consid- ered, especially considering his suspicious unshaven look.
