TELEVISION Filmchoice FILM RATINGS excellent very good good average poor KEY (R)repeat (S)subtitles on text service STEPHEN MARR BBC2 ITV1 Channel 4 Five London Lite Wednesday, 2 September 2009 25 Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire ITV1, 7pm (2005) HARRY POTTER films read like a Whos Who of British stage and screen. In the fourth instalment of the series, Hogwarts hosts the Triwizard Tournament, and Harry has to face more than the usual challenges. Stars Daniel Radcliffe, above, Ralph Fiennes, Michael Gambon, Dame Maggie Smith and many, many more. Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls BBC3, 9pm (1995) JIM CARREY, above, was hilarious in the first Ace Ventura film, but this is what happens when you give an over-actor a bit of encouragement. The pet detective is back, and this time the wisecracks keep coming and coming and coming -- till you get a bit sick of them. Having said that, there are a couple of gags that still raise a laugh -- see if you can spot them. Cocktail E4, 9pm (1988) HAVE you ever been in one of those clubs where the barman tries to be a tricky juggler with the bottles and simply ends up showering everyone in booze? Well, the guy more than likely got the idea from this film. Tom Cruise, above, plays his usual cocky role, while his Australian co-star, Bryan Brown, is surely exaggerating his stone-the-flamin-crows accent. Waterworld ITV2, 11.20pm (1995) PARDON the pun, but this is when the world realised that the appeal of Kevin Costner, above, had reached saturation point. He had been a big-hitter in some half-dozen blockbusters and critics were waiting for him to serve up a stinker. This was it. Its a sci-fi action film where one man has to protect the damsel in an aquatic no mans land -- like Mad Max (1979) on the high seas. 10.30 This Morning (S). 12.30 Loose Women (S). 1.30 ITV Lunchtime News (S). 1.55 London News And Weather (S). 2.00 House Gift (S).
