TELEVISION Filmchoice FILM RATINGS excellent very good good average poor KEY (R)repeat (S)subtitles on text service STEPHEN MARR BBC2 ITV1 Channel 4 Five London Lite Friday, 14 August 2009 19 The Shawshank Redemption Film4, 9pm (1994) MoRgan FReeMan and Tim Robbins, above, star in this uplifting tale of the human spirit. It reveals that no matter how much you take away from someone, its what they carry within them that counts. Based on Stephen Kings novel of a man wrongly accused of murder, who finds his life changed by a relationship with a fellow prison inmate. Bugsy Malone Film4, 7.10pm (1976) SoMe people hate buskers, others are frightened of clowns. Im slightly creeped out by children pretending to be adults. Jodie Foster and Scott Baio, above, star in this gangster film where bullets are replaced with splurge. Certainly the best film in the child gangster musical genre. It is a testament to Fosters range that it came out in the same year as Taxi Driver. Enemy At The Gates More4, 9pm (2001) a gRITTY story about the siege of Stalingrad, which is slightly ruined by a number of things. The films budget is apparent in the less-than-seamless computer graphics, and all the actors speak in their native language. For example, delight in the unintentionally funny Bob Hoskins, above, as nikita awright geez Khrushchev. The Naked Gun 33/Film4, 11.45pm (1994) THe third and last in a very entertaining series.
