Strathclyde shows the campaign against domestic violence taking an innovative turn, while on humberside, police use tech- nology to pick off known criminals as they drive around. L ittle more than 60 miles lie between Anglesey and Blackpool, yet theres far, far more separating the ancient home of the druids from the famous stretches of electric lights in the resort that boasts the motto Progress. Coasts finely tuned formula, part travelogue, part education (though it always wears its Open University credentials lightly), has a way of transforming the plain old British isles into a place of rich exoticism.
