IN&OUTTONIGHT 18 Tuesday, 11 August 2009 London Lite own place. Id do the same if I could but my parents live in Melbourne. We ended the evening at about 10pm and he went his way and I went mine. We didnt swap numbers but have since added each other as friends on Facebook. I dont think we really fancied each other. In a way, I think that was quite a relief as it meant there was no pressure and we could relax. We had a good evening, though. INITIALLY we were both nervous but that didnt last long, especially once we got involved with the music pod. It was a bit unusual -- and not normally something Id do on a date but because it was such silly fun, it helped break the ice. Although I think were both musical, neither Didwe LOVE Katharine Innes, a 24-year-old actress from Hammersmith, chose to date Tony Walker, a 24-year-old banker from Romford, as she liked his genuine attitude. We sent them to the South Banks Music Box to see if they were in tune with each other. I LEFT my choice of date to my friends as I think sometimes they know me better than I know myself. Looking at Tonys answers I think they got it right. It seemed like he was genuine rather than just saying what he thought youd want to hear, which I liked. We were meeting on the South Bank and from the start it went very smoothly -- I think were both quite easygoing and dont find it difficult to chat to people. To break the ice wed been booked into a new music pod installation at the Royal Festival Hall. We had to make our own music track, but we only had 10 minutes to do it. To start with we had to choose a rhythm, like jazz or techno, before adding drum beats and keyboard melodies. Then we got a chance to mix it up on a DJ turntable. Fortunately we have some musical abil- ity between us, as Tony has a singing background and natural rhythm, while Id just been to a singing audition that day, otherwise it could have been quite embarrassing. Even so, after taking our first attempt quite seriously, we decided to make the second one sound really terrible just for a giggle. It was all great fun and very noisy. Im an actress and I think Tony found that interesting as he was into acting when he was younger and at one point thought he might make a career out of it. Fortunately he didnt, which was great for me as I dont want to date another actor. With so much to talk about the conversation flowed over dinner, with lots of banter back and forth. Tony lives at home with his parents. I know some girls might be put off by that fact but it didnt bother me. It makes sense if you want to save some cash so you can eventually put a deposit down on your SHESAYS: Fancy going on a date with these hotties, courtesy of Lite? It used to be grotty, but inside we saw lots of chic-looking twentysomethings huddled around quiz sheets and decent bottles of wine. We werent feeling sharp enough for the quiz, but went to the restaurant at the back, where we ordered a crisp bottle of gavi (23). We shared a pint of fresh prawns with garlic mayo (9), and some dinky but delicious cod and salmon fishcakes (6.50), before I devoured a crispy pan-fried trout on pea and broad bean risotto (13). He ate an Aberdeen Angus burger and fries (11). We discovered the pub is the latest venture from Tom & Ed Martin, the brothers who made a roaring success of other gastropubs including the Prince Arthur and The Botanist. This one looks set to be similarly popular. FAY, BATTERSEA CHEAP DATE Single FILEWhat happened when we sent two Lite readers on a date to make their own music track?
