The agreement may pave the way for trains and even Tube stations to be sponsored by private companies. It comes as TfL looks for ways of plugging a major funding gap. Under the deal, Tube information will be displayed on the huge advertising screen at Piccadilly. It will be updated every five minutes between 8am and 6pm. Coca-Cola is not charging TfL for the service. Sparkling clean... at least for now: the new Victoria Line train THE first new Tube train in more than 10 years has entered service. It is one of 47 Victoria Line trains due to be added to the network by autumn. The new carriages are part of the ongoing upgrade of the line, which carries 630,000 people a day. The frequency of trains is increasing and the capacity of the line will be boosted by 20 per cent. As well as having extra headroom, the trains run smoother and doors open wider. Chef Mickiel Azi, 31, from Shepherds Bush, immediately noticed the change when he boarded the train last night. He said: It was better than the old ones. Its very clean. Meanwhile, commuters could be forced to wait longer for air-conditioned Tube trains after a planning row. Westminster Council has signalled its opposition to the crude design of a substation needed to power the fleet. Planners are recommending permis- sion be refused at a meeting tomorrow. by georgina littlejohn Big screens: live Tube info will be shown index.html2.html3.html4.html5.html6.html7.html8.html9.html10.html11.html12.html13.html14.html15.html16.html17.html18.html19.html20.html21.html22.html23.html24.html25.html26.html27.html28.html29.html30.html31.html32.html33.html34.html35.html36.html37.html38.html39.html
