Yes, Dame edna everage is back in town from down under (which means Barry Humphries, right, cant be far behind) and for once Wossy better watch out -- even his big mouth wont get the better of the Melbourne housewife with the sharpest tongue either side of the equator. Plus, Anjelica Huston -- you really wouldnt want to mess with Hollywoods toughest cookie either -- and music from U2. As Seen On TV BBC1, 8.30pm noW and then you need to flump down exhausted on the sofa as the weekend begins, grab the remote and find something suitable to switch the brain to stand-by mode. So what better than a TV quiz? not only are you rewarded for all the eons youve spent staring at the goggle box as you rattle off the answers, but its also one in the eye for that annoying friend who always outscores both teams on University Challenge but here is wholly flummoxed. Guests lauren laverne and laurence llewelyn-Bowen join captains Fern Britton and comedian Jason Manford for the first in a new series. F or a while back in the late Seventies Farrah Fawcett was possibly the most famous woman in the world. A starring role in Charlies Angels, relationships with ryan oNeal and Six Million Dollar Man Lee Majors, a n d h e r g o r g e o u s a n d impossibly perfect f licked blonde hair put the Texan at the top of the men-want-and- women-want-to-be league. Her death last month (on the same day as Michael Jackson) sent a wave of melancholy around the globe for those mil- lions whose mental image of the 62-year-old remained the vibrantly healthy poster girl. Tonights film tells the story of her battle against cancer in her final years. Soon after herWhat an angel: Farrah Fawcett during her superstar heyday Coronation Street ITV1, 7.30pm/8.30pm SHeS not happy about it, but Connie (Rita May, right) lets Jack stay in her home. Imagine his surprise at the reality of her less-than-humble abode and the fact shes now worth a fair few bob. And theres a sudden and very dramatic crisis for Claire -- can lloyd save the day? every bit as grim as that all sounds, especially knowing how Farrahs Story will end. Yet this is far from a ghoulish splurge of celebrity voyeurism. Youll have to adjust to the fact that its made in that cheesy American way which can sit so uncomfortably with British tastes, but what comes through most is Fawcetts con- tinued youthfulness of spirit. Long after the specialists have begun to give her only the grim- mest reality checks, Fawcett grasps every smallest sliver of hope and refuses to curl up and wait for the worst. My expectation now and deepest desire is to live, she proclaims, scant months before the end. Fawcetts defiance was a triumph of life, and an inspi- ration that may supplant even that poster face of the Seventies when we next think of her. 11.00 To Buy or not To Buy (R,S). 11.30 Trash To Cash (S); BBC news; Weather. 12.15 Cash In The Attic (R,S). 1.00 BBC news; Weather (S). 1.30 Regional news And Weather (S). 1.45 Doctors (S). 2.15 Diagnosis Murder (R,S).
