See RE ASHES (L&B 16/07) what on earth are England doing by letting Flintoff announce his retirement from Test cricket in the middle of an Ashes series? The remaining Tests will now be all about Freddie, its a circus! Don21 RE ASHES (L&B 16/07) so Freddies off is he? As he hasnt done anything since watering the vegetables at No 10, does anyone really care? Jonesey RE ASHES (L&B 16/07) does anyone think Andrew Strauss can deliver a team talk at Lords today that can possibly rival the one being given by Ricky Ponting in the neighbouring dressing room? Thought not. MacKnife PAUL (L&B 16/07) no Spurs fan wants him or any of the other players Redknapp is after. We want Redknapp out, sing we want Redknapp out. BrotherBear, Enfield RYANALDO (L&B 16/07) Im still around but as there is no football to talk about Im clearly not as lonely as you! And if you can find a text where Ive said Spurs will finish top four Ill buy you a friend to talk to in REAL life! Steveo, THFC Loyal RYANALDO (L&B 16/07) funny how your name has been changed to mirror a mug who is universally hated....see the link back! RE ADEBAYOR (L&B 16/07) Im starting to get really nervous that, as usual, when it comes to the big moment Adebayor is going to balls it up. Please, Man City, pay him what he wants, youve got plenty. Nicklas RE TERRY (L&B 16/07) So JT models the new Chelsea kit but doesnt comment on his future. Ballack, meanwhile, says he hasnt really discussed it with JT but he thinks hell stay. Given this is the same Ballack who chased a referee like a man possessed and couldnt see a problem with his behaviour afterwards, we can assume JTs on his way then. Also, on what basis has Drogba, had his four match ban reduced? It should have been doubled! Macca Going on holiday? You can now keep up with all the action in LiteSport by logging on to: Togo, or not to go: Adebayor demands 170,000-a-week ARSENAL striker Emmanuel Adebayor is stalling over a move to Manchester City because they are refusing to meet his wage demands of 170,000 a week a figure that would make him the Premier Leagues top earner. The Togo international received a work permit yesterday but turned down the chance to undergo a medical as City continue to talk to his advisers. There is also a growing belief that the 25-year- old is concerned how his transfer will be received in his native Togo. He fears being perceived as money-driven if he should leave a club that is hugely popular in Africa and go to one that has a much lower standing. Adebayor (right) missed the flight to South Africa for Citys pre-season tour, which begins on Saturday. However, Citys football administrator Brian Marwood is in London today to continue talks and sources close to the club expect the 25m deal to be concluded by the end of this week. Arsenals search for a replacement has run into difficulties as their principal target, Bordeauxs Marouane Chamakh, insists he will not be rushed into deciding his next move. Want-away Real Madrid striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar remains a possible alternative but Tottenham are also monitoring the 17m-rated Dutchman.
