The star suffered severe burns in the incident during the shooting of a 1984 Pepsi commercial. In the film, disclosed by a US magazine, Jackson is singing Billie Jean when a firework goes off early, showering him in flames. He appears oblivious, but people rush on set rush to put out the fire and when he emerges the top of his head is bald. Jackson needed skin grafts after the accident. Hair today: singing Billie Jean Starting something: hair lights Bad: Jacksons head is on fire Beat it: people rush on set to put out flames Smooth criminal: when he emerges from the throng of helpers, the top of his head is bald Kept on ice: Michael Jackson POLICE are now treating Michael Jacksons death as homicide, it was reported today. Los Angeles Police Department officers believe that if evidence points towards a doctor having given the pop star an illegal drug dose, second-degree murder or man- slaughter charges could be brought. The showbiz website TMZ, which broke the story of Jacksons death, said the investigation could focus on Dr Conrad Murray, who was with the 50-year-old singer when he suffered a fatal cardiac arrest three weeks ago. The site also reported that police want to look at the use of Propofol, a pre-surgery anaes- thetic drug as the primary cause of Jacksons death. Dr Murray, 51, who was not licensed to prescribe controlled drugs in California, has been interviewed by police in the company of his lawyers, who insist he has been cleared of any wrongdoing. But LAPD sources reportedly told TMZ that there was already plenty of power- ful evidence involving Dr Murray, who was Jacksons personal doctor. Police are expected to make their next move after they receive the imminent results of toxicology tests. It was also reported that Jacksons body is being kept on ice in a refriger- ated underground crypt at Forest Lawn Cemetery in LA in case it can provide key evidence for the investigation. Friends say the family have decided to delay the burial rather than risk having to exhume the body if new clues emerge from a second autopsy.
