IN&OUTTONIGHT 18 Tuesday, 14 July 2009 London Lite through Bolivia and Peru so I gave her some tips on doing the Inca trail. The food in the VIP tent was great. I had meat and pasta to start with and then we wandered back later for some burgers. We both stuck to cider, although I didnt drink much as Id had a big one the night before and couldnt handle any more booze. We spent the whole day together and although we got on well it was more of a friends thing. Miranda was great fun to talk to and really happy and bubbly but I wouldnt say Id date her. Im not sure why but I suppose you just get that vibe some- times. If Im honest, I pretty much knew that from the start of the date. We didnt swap numbers but we might possibly get in touch via Facebook and, you never know, we might hook up for a friendly drink. Overall I loved the day -- the com- pany was great and so was the venue. Chris was better- looking than his photo. he was smiley and friendly and we pretty much launched straight into the old getting-to-know-you chit-chat. We realised were both into our indie and rock music so we thought Kanye West wouldnt be our sort of thing. But he was brilliant and such a Did he LOVE Single FILEWhathappened whenwesenttwoLite readersonadatewhere KanyeWestwasheadlining? Chris havers, a 26-year-old corporate fundraiser from Norwood, chose to date Miranda Terrey, a 24-year-old Ma student from stoke Newington, as she had both brains and good looks. We sent them to Wireless Festival in hyde Park to see if music really was the food of love. We arrIVed at about the same time and I recognised Miranda quickly. I chose to date her not only because she was a pretty girl but because she also seemed clever -- intelligence is definitely important to me. We had VIP tickets to Wireless in Hyde Park on Sunday when Kanye West was headlining. as it turned out we both prefer indie bands, so as neither of us knew much about the line-up we just agreed to do a lucky dip as to whom we watched. I really enjoyed Kanye Wests showmanship and discovered that I actu- ally knew most of his songs. I found the date pretty easy-going. It was slightly awkward at first but the venue helped quite a bit as it gave us lots to see and do. Plus we seemed to have a lot of mutual interests. We shared a few anecdotes from other festivals wed been to -- we had both loved going to reading when we were younger. The conversation was quite music- focused throughout the day but we also talked about where we like to hang out socially. We live at opposite ends of London but I do sometimes go out in the east end near where Miranda lives so we still had some things in common. I think she found my work quite appeal- ing as I do fundraising for a charity and for my part I found her really interesting. Shes doing an Ma in archaeology and went to Mexico in april to take part in a dig -- it all sounded pretty cool stuff. I spent six weeks in Mexico myself a few years back so we swapped stories about the places wed been to. Miranda is thinking about going to South america at the end of this year and Ive travelled Fancy going on a date with this hottie, courtesy of Lite? Thousands are looking for you at Tasty Asian: Dim T is perfect for a first date CHEAP DATE CHOOSiNg a restaurant for a first date is always a little tricky. You dont know what food theyll like, you dont want it to be too daunting and you dont want to choose something too pricey in case the date isnt worth it. So Asian food chain Dim T (dimt.co.uk, branches in Hampstead, Highgate, gloucester Road, London Bridge, Victoria and the West End), is perfect. Dim T combines Chinese, Japanese and Thai food so you can easily -- as we did -- have a starter of edamame (3.60) and dim sum (3.05), a main of Thai green curry (7.95), or crispy duck (9.40) and share a chocolate sukiyaki fondue (5.85) for dessert. The sophisticated dcor makes the place appear more expensive than it actually is, the service is fast and friendly and, for some reason, the restaurants are often quite empty so theres no need to book.
