Martina Cole Best-selling author Martina Cole, 51, is famed for her east end gangster novels. After successful tV adaptations of Dangerous lady and the Jump, the latest Cole story to hit our tV screens is the take, available on DVD now. East End or West End? For shopping the East End, I love all the markets there. I think for clubbing and going out the West End. Writing or reading? Oooh, thats a hard one, its really 50-50 for me. If I had to push it, reading -- I love reading other peoples stuff. Staying in or going out? I love staying in with the kids, especially at weekends and summer holidays. When the kids arent there though, Im out. When the kids are away this mouse will play. Heels or flats? Heels, unless Im travelling long distances, then I put flats on. Ive just opened a shoe shop with a Brazilian designer, Mauro Slomp. He has designed a black leather, high pointed court shoe that he has called Martina -- so Ive got my own shoe! Good guys or bad boys? Oh always bad boys for me. I like the bad boys (such as Tom Hardy, left, in The Take) and always have. Designer or high street? It depends, I do love Matalan but there is a bad part of me that loves hitting designer shops. The study, commissioned by Mayor Boris Johnson, recommends a pedestrian and cycle bridge between North Greenwich and Canary Wharf, a tunnel or bridge at Silvertown, and improved passenger ferries. The review was carried out by Transport for London after the Mayor cancelled plans for the Thames Gateway Bridge. A TOP London Jewish school deemed unlawfully racist when it denied a 12- year-old boy a place on religious grounds was today ordered by three Appeal Court judges to admit him. Last month the judges ruled unanimously that it would be an injustice if the boy was not given a place at the Jewish Free School in Kenton. The school -- backed by the Secretary of State for Education -- may now petition the House of Lords directly. THE London banker who leapt to his death from a restaurant terrace was being investigated for offending a client, it has been claimed. Anjool Malde is believed to have impersonated the client on a financial website, posting the message, I am hot, I am hot as a joke. Investigators think the remark was a reference to his client, who works for a hedge fund management firm, being on a successful investment run. But the client did not find it humorous and made a formal complaint to the company which runs the discussion forum. It led to Mr Maldes employers, Deutsche Bank, launching an internal investigation and sending the banker home early on Friday. Although his friends have said that he appeared untroubled, Mr Malde jumped from the top of the eight-storey Coq dArgent restaurant at No 1 Poultry on Sunday, four days before he was due to celebrate his 25th birthday. He was wear- ing his best Hugo Boss suit and holding a glass of champagne. He is thought to have feared he would be fired because three people in his department had been made redundant. He had also been reprimanded for send- ing an email promoting his alphaparties events firm from his work computer. A source said: On the face of it, its a trivial incident. But in the City, issues which involve potential loss of money or reputation are taken seriously. Mr Maldes friends held a memorial last night at what would have been his birthday party in Soho. by mArk blunden Pressure: party organiser and City broker Anjool Malde H index.html2.html3.html4.html5.html6.html7.html8.html9.html10.html11.html12.html13.html14.html15.html16.html17.html18.html19.html20.html21.html22.html23.html24.html25.html26.html27.html28.html29.html30.html31.html32.html33.html34.html35.html36.html37.html38.html39.html40.html41.html42.html43.html
