In a speech to environmentalists last night, the Prince of Wales said our consumerist society had brought the world close to environmental collapse. He said: We face the dual challenges of a world view and an economic system that seem to have enormous shortcom- ings, together with an environmental crisis -- including that of climate change, which threatens to engulf us all.
